Emergencies

During surgery hours any dental emergency will be seen as soon as practicable on the same day, so please phone as early as is possible in the day. Emergency cases involving children and particularly loss of teeth will be seen immediately.

Our reception staff will take some details to ascertain the nature and extent of the emergency. Please be patient and answer the questions to the best of your knowledge. It helps us greatly in arranging a suitable appointment.

Where emergency treatment is required outside of normal working hours, please ring the surgery on 02 9484 1132. Our answering machine will give you the contact number of the dentist who is on call .

What is an Emergency appointment?

The following qualify as Emergency appointments:

  • Severe toothache with pain radiating to eye, ear and or throat. Kept awake at nights and uncontrollable with painkillers
  • Pain with Swelling and Temperature
  • Trauma to the face resulting in broken or injured teeth
  • Lost or loose crowns
  • Broken fillings or teeth with some or little sensitivity
